Colour Predictions: PANTONE 2009

Pantone is like the colour guide for graphic designers to see how colours will actually print out like. Every year they release the fashion colour report to predict the future fashion trends. So here's to more blog hit predictions (like Kay said.) Here is the release for Spring 2009:

Slate Gray (Pantone 16-5804); Fushia Red (Pantone 18-2328); Dark Citron (Pantone 16-0435); Salmon Rose (Pantone 15-1626)
Super Lemon (Pantone 14-0754); Lavender (Pantone 15-3817); Vibrant Green (Pantone 16-6339); Palace Blue (Pantone 18-4043)

I'm sooo inspired...im gonna look into these colours...

Pastel masking tape

Running with the japanese theme here.  How beautiful and superfluous is this? Pastel coloured masking tape and a whole website dedicated to the product.  I'm not very good navigating through a Japanese website but it's full of peaceful imagery and gentle music, it's like dreamy stationery fairytale...

Kids who know alot

Gen X have a hard time motivating slacker Gen Y.  Look what Gen Y have to contend with - genius child programmers.

Singapore's Lim Ding Wen has written the Doodle Kids app for iPhone and he's only 9 years old!  He reads programming books for fun.

I should feel like being even more slack reading this news, but I'm inspired - if a 9 year old can make his dreams come alive - surely I can!

personalised valentine's anyone?

how cute an idea is this?
best of all, if you don't have a valentine, you can still send something sweet and personalised to other 'loves' in your life like this example, addressed to the blogger's sister.

blog twilight zone

Charli just ran urgently to inform me that two posts I have featured or follow have miraculously appeared in newspaper magazines!  The latest Financial Review Luxury Special featured my jewellery tree and the Sunday Life features an engagement photo feature from a blog I follow featuring the photography of Max Wanger, who at every opportunity, I show to my newly engaged friends to inspire for their own photographs.  I love his photography and hope so much to emulate his style when I take my own shots.

It's very exciting that my eye and the world are running so closely in tune - so watch this space people - we are quickly becoming trend forecasters!

What with the first home owners grant and all, I've had only 'home and decor' on the brain.  Have you ever wondered how to best describe your interior design style?  At mydeco.com, they have this quick and fun online quiz.  The website helps you put together looks for your home with great inspiration for colours, accessories and furniture: very user-friendly!

MmmMM....chocolate

You know how you're sitting there chatting away with your hot chocolate, and by the time you finish drinking it, the end slurp is like brain-freezingly sweet - this baby solves this problem. The best part, though? It moo’s while whisking...

stationery love

Maybe being a lawyer and paper pushing all day has rubbed off on my personal sensibilities - I Love Stationery. And I'm supremely unhappy, peoples.

I'm missing out on the kikki-k sale of the year! I mean, two years ago, I got this cute storage box in different colours for under $10! Head to the kikki-k warehouse (3/153 Bertie Street, Port Melbourne) between 9 and 5 Sat and Sun this weekend (7-8 Feb). Among some damaged stuff there's great gear in good condition. Oh to be in Perth a different weekend and satisfying my craving for cute stationery instead.
