Earning my Stripes

This post was inspired when I was watching a rerun of Gossip Girl and saw Blake Lively wearing that preppy Ralph Lauren jacket (which i covet muchly.) I do like a classy stripe pattern with my fashion.
Stripes make such a statement when it's used on wallpaper and furniture. It turns a boring wallflower into such eye candy. I love how, depending on the width of the stripes, it can set such different moods. There's preppy, nautical, retro or classy. It's all about size baby!

Save Our Sharks!

Found this powerful advertisement in ibelieveinadv.com.
I love sharks and this is such an important message I would love to spread.

The Sharkproject is an initiative to raise awareness about the threat of shark extinction, centered on “finning” – a practice in which the shark is caught, their fins cut off and the rest of the animal thrown back to the sea. This mailing is printed on rough paper similar to a shark’s skin and tells the recipient where to cut the envelope open, revealing a bloody shark fin stump. Lovely and powerful.-charli

Charli's Design Time...

Been procrastinating and playing around with this tshirt design. Should I get it screen printed? ...and now I'm thinking it may make a better design for a notebook or stationery. What should I do with this design? I would love some feedback?

Recycled Wine Crates

I like the idea of recycling wine crates. It looks great in the photo but I wonder how "artsy" it will come across in reality. I worry it'll end up looking a little cheap and homeless-eque...What do you think?
But I do think this flooring made from recycled old wine crates would look awesome for maybe a nice little cafe or homeware store?

goodbye, tree!

Good-bye, tree

you were never meant to be planted,
danuta said your seeds were stolen in,
but grow and shade us you did.

and lately, tree, you've been a bit ill;
you lost one of your branches,
and borers, working at their own will.

now a lopper has been called by me,
and no longer will we see,
the view though your leaves.
good-bye, tree.

The designer is Haoshi who has an online store!!
